Failed on a lunch photo…

Getting used to taking pictures at all of my meals is hard! Hopefully I will get better at this.

Anyways, lunch was at Southport Brewing Company with my dad — I had the Portobello Burger with onions and red peppers on a multigrain roll and a small side salad. Oh, I also indulged myself and had a much needed Sasco Hill Pale Ale to try and soothe my nerves after weeks of being sick.

I also came home and made a half version of the green smoothie I had this morning — can you tell my body is seriously craving spinach? I almost used a whole box today in my drinks and I can’t get enough. It’s really so good though and you can barely taste the spinach in the smoothie when you put banana or berries in with it.

Anyways, since I failed on the lunch picture, I figure a whale picture is just as good — Here’s one I took last summer of an orca slapping its pectoral fin (we call it flipper slapping) on the surface of the water just off of the San Juan Islands in Washington state.

“It’s an empowering idea. The entire goliath of the food industry is ultimately driven and determined by the choices we make as the waiter gets impatient for our order or in the practicalities and whimsies of what we load into our shopping carts or farmers’ market bags.” - Jonathan Safran Foer ..............................................................
