Another Green Smoothie Morning

I felt so great last night that I woke up with a mission to consume at least 2 more glasses of spinach smoothie today — unfortunately I woke up feeling super nauseous… but after a little while I was ready for my date with the blender.

Our first batch of smoothie was a mixture of milk, greek yogurt, huge handfuls of spinach, bananas, peanut butter, a few strawberries, and a handful of dark chocolate. We drank it up, but weren’t thrilled with the overall taste — I think the verdict is that it’s best to keep the combinations simple.

Batch #2 was a more basic concoction of less yogurt, more milk, lots and lots of spinach, 2 bananas, extra peanut butter, and a handful of dark chocolate… this one was a winner!

I love how green this batch turned out! Now that we’re stuffed full of spinach goodness we’re off to try and get Charlie a mono blood test — hopefully today will be a healthy/energetic day for me.

“It’s an empowering idea. The entire goliath of the food industry is ultimately driven and determined by the choices we make as the waiter gets impatient for our order or in the practicalities and whimsies of what we load into our shopping carts or farmers’ market bags.” - Jonathan Safran Foer ..............................................................
