Day 2 at 78th and York!

So I got to officially move into my new apartment in New York yesterday and I’m really liking it — apart from the fact that my kitchen is very teeny. My biggest complaint is counter space, but we’ll see how it works out after I experiment with more meals.

Lunch today was at Lenny’s in the Upper West Side (a sandwich/salad bar type restaurant). Charlie and I shared a vegetable panini (with red peppers, zucchini, onion, and mozzarella) and a salad (with spinach, artichoke, hearts of palm, kidney beans, cucumber, avocado, and onion).

For dinner tonight I made taco salad consisting of spinach, tomatoes, avocado, onions, meatless ground, baked blue corn tortilla chips and taco spice with a greek yogurt and hot sauce dressing.

“It’s an empowering idea. The entire goliath of the food industry is ultimately driven and determined by the choices we make as the waiter gets impatient for our order or in the practicalities and whimsies of what we load into our shopping carts or farmers’ market bags.” - Jonathan Safran Foer ..............................................................
