Homemade Granola

This post is definitely late — two nights ago I decided to try my hand at making some spiced homemade granola….

…and it turned out great!

I made my granola by mixing oats, almonds, sunflower seeds, coconut, flax seed, cardamom, and cinnamon and then poured in a mixture of honey, water, and 2 egg whites.

I now have two huuuge bags of homemade granola! I think next time I make it I will decrease the liquids since it came out a little chewier than I’d like, but all in all I think my first experiment with this was a success.

“It’s an empowering idea. The entire goliath of the food industry is ultimately driven and determined by the choices we make as the waiter gets impatient for our order or in the practicalities and whimsies of what we load into our shopping carts or farmers’ market bags.” - Jonathan Safran Foer ..............................................................
