Father’s Day Feasting

When I went home this weekend, it was feasting time.

Not previously mentioned before is that I am a pretty strict vegetarian, but I have one meat exception: large, bay scallops. So this delicious Father’s Day grilling feast included some awesome grilled scallops…

…a Caprese salad…

…a regular green salad with chopped tomatoes and scallions…

…a gorgeous mixed berry fruit salad…

…grilled veggies (zucchini, onion, squash, and asparagus)…

…and some homemade sangria!

My dad the meat-eater also enjoyed some ribs and a chicken kabob while my mom enjoyed some wild alaskan salmon from the grill.

Not bad huh?

“It’s an empowering idea. The entire goliath of the food industry is ultimately driven and determined by the choices we make as the waiter gets impatient for our order or in the practicalities and whimsies of what we load into our shopping carts or farmers’ market bags.” - Jonathan Safran Foer ..............................................................
