waving goodbye

saying goodbye to summer is never easy.

but you know it’s really happened when you wake up craving a hot breakfast.

oatmeal season hasn’t yet hit me, but this morning called for a simple, perfect combo:

my mom’s homemade whole wheat bread. toasted. raw almond butter. banana slices.

coffee.

with a side of just-picked-from-the-parent’s-garden flowers.

i guess summer hasn’t left us yet.

and while you’re mentally preparing for next year’s beach-time… how amazing are these bags? they’re made up in maine from recycled sails and perfect for the beach. i got one made for my friend anna a few years ago and got it custom designed with a green “6” for her soccer glory days back in college.

enjoy your sunday!

“It’s an empowering idea. The entire goliath of the food industry is ultimately driven and determined by the choices we make as the waiter gets impatient for our order or in the practicalities and whimsies of what we load into our shopping carts or farmers’ market bags.” - Jonathan Safran Foer ..............................................................
